created with sustainability in mind
From day one, Hunter Douglas fabrics for roller shades were developed with sustainability in mind. That's why we created our glare control fabrics using uncoated yarns, promoting recyclability. Prior to their introduction under the brandname Greenscreen, nearly all solar and glare control fabrics were comprised of two different materials: a core yarn (usually polyester or glass fiber), and a PVC coating. These fabrics' composite construction made recycling extremely difficult because it required the core and coating to be separated as part of the recycling process.
